No HDMI option in Playback Devices on Windows 10 Lenovo laptop; No HDMI Audio from TV

I have a Lenovo Y700 running 64-bit Windows 10.
Today, I connected my laptop to my TV via a HDMI cable. The laptop's screen was projected on the TV screen, but the laptop's audio continued to play through the laptop.
I went to "Playback Devices" in the sound settings, and all I saw was Realtek High Definition Audio. There was no option for HDMI.
I have double-checked that "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices" were both updated.
I have made sure that my Intels Graphics Driver and Nvidia GTX 960M Driver are both updated.

Additionally, under "Sounds, video, and game controllers", there are three devices:
Intel(R) Display Audio
NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)
Realtek High Definition Audio

How can I get HDMI audio enabled and play through the TV? It is simply not showing up in the Playback Devices.

Additional to that, I can suggest forcing the nVidia card to take over HDMI duties with battery and without. I think you can find that in the power options, but I don't have Win10, so I can't give you an exact way to get there; I don't know if they changed it from Win7. It's usually named "playback options" in either the drivers or power options.

If I think of something else, I'll let you know. I've never had this problem with my notebook, although it's way older: i7 3xxxHQ + GTX675m.

I have had a similar problem for a few months but managed to fix it last night.

In device manager, does it say all three audio devices are working properly?

If there is only one playback device listed, it's more than likely the wrong audio device driver is installed and therefore isn't working correctly.

The audio device used for your laptop via HDMI is; Intel(R) Display Audio

Can you list your display adapters?
