No internet connection on a new build

I recently just put together my first build. It was going great until i booted it up and installed windows and am now unable to connect to the internet. I installed the latest drivers and even uninstalled and reinstalled the ethernet and i'm still unable to get a connection. My motherboard is a gigabyte 970a-UD3P. Wondering if i have a faulty board or maybe i havent tried something in BIOS.

Check the BIOS for any ethernet options that have been disabled. If possible, use another PC to download the drivers from Gigabyte's website as it is normally more up to date than the ones included on the PC. If this isn't possible try reinstalling Windows and installing the drivers again to rule out any errors made during the OS or driver install.
