If its not plugged in your computer will not fully boot as its a necessary input device.

If its a USB keyboard, try another port. Further testing and information may be required.

If you simply don't have a keyboard plugged in, refer to my first sentence.

If it is Ps2 connector (round), please check to make sure that no pins are bent or not lined-up correctly.

i have sata harddrive and sata cd/dvdrom drive in my pc, and i want to add one hard drive. this drive is IDE i want to use this only for back up my files. how i set up this also the jumper? my ide cable is no slave only master.

I have had a problem before when the keyboard works in bios but not in windiws. If this is what is happening to you then go into the bios and depending on which mobo you have got to a tab such as Peririfarhals(wring spelling) and set usb keyboard to enabled, that is if it is a usb keyboard if ciurse
