Yesterday I hibernated my computer and now it no longer boots.

So far I've tried removing all peripherals, then removing my GPU and using on board HDMI out. Then just running the mobo on another PSU, all with the same results. The fans all spin up and so do my hard drives, but no output appears on screen and I don't hear any POST beeps.

I can still power down, but it automatically boots again by itself after a couple seconds with the same results.

Solution

It seems you have a defective motherboard on your hands...try another motherboard on the same psu and see what happens.
If it fails, you should probably get another motherboard or at...
Have you tried hard resetting your BIOS? Remove your motherboard battery, disconnect the power cable from the psu then after
about 5 minutes, reseat the battery, reconnect the power cable and power your pc to see if it solves the issue.

So I tried doing this, but I must have messed up because after doing so, nothing happens when I try to power on.

After that happened I tried running the motherboard on a different power supply and manually bridging the power on pins in case the issue was with the case button, with no success either way.

If it fails, you should probably get another motherboard or at least get yours to a technician, whatever's easier and cheaper for you.

Yeah, I think you're right about the motherboard, but I'll go through my last round of testing at the same time.

Took the power supply out of the rig in question and connected it to a separate computer, which ran fine. Just for DD I took the power supply from the other computer and connected it to the z97 and nothing happened. I also tried bread boxing it with 1, 2, and 3 sticks of RAM and no luck on any of those tests.

I'm convinced that my motherboard is dead, unless someone has any other ideas. Thanks for the help as well.
