No output when front USB are connected

I do not get a display when the Front USB ports are connected to my mobo. Mobo model: gigabyte 78lmt-s2p
Graphics card: At I AMD HD 7770
Cabinet: Something by Antec

My output is taken through the HDMI port on the gfx card. Whenever the F_USB ports are connected, I do net get any display output. The motherboard beeps once as usual, but no video output. On disconnecting the front USB ports, the computer boots up as normal.
I have a PCI WLAN card connected too, and its status LED(which usually comes on after the POST screen) doesn't come on at all. The graphics card fan runs thoug . Any help?

They are, yes. I've tried plugging them into F_USB2. Same problem persists

So the real question:

Is it the MoBo bad or is the Front USB device bad? I hope its not the USB ports installed in the case.

To find this we need to figure out how we are going to get after testing for the bad component without spending money.

Are there other USB headers on your MoBo? (I take it that F_USB2 is the other one and you tried it).

Do you have any other old card readers laying about your could plug into that exact set of headers to test if it is the board?

Lets figure out what you have available to test with so we can make sure it is not your MoBo.
