I have an HP 8100 Mid Tower PC equipped with a 320w power supply and a GTX 1050. My friend is giving me his GTX 1060 3gb for free but the problem is that my PSU doesn't have a pin connector available for my PSU so I can't power the gtx 1060. I have read some things about purchasing a molex adapter, but I'm not sure how to use those or what to connect it to. My power supply is non modular, but I'm not sure if that will affect how many cables it has.

PC specs:

i7 870 @2.93 ghz
GTX 1050 2gb GDDR5
Seagate 2TB Hard-drive
320w PSU

Everything else is HP generic such as motherboard, etc..

Any help would be appreciated in order to find a way to plug in the new gtx 1060 (if there is a way). Thanks in advance..

You need another PSU. I don't think it's going to work with an adapter. I think it's too weak plus you didn't mention a brand so I assume it's not a major brand and that makes it even worse. edit: I saw HP genereric. I still say you need another PSU.

On the plus side I think the 1060 will work fine with the i7-870 once you get another PSU.

Ok, are there any PSU's you suggest? My budget would be max $60 CAD.

Ok thank you, I will be keeping an eye out on a cheap 550w one. Btw, do you know if that power supply will fit in my case?

Ok thank you for you for your help, greatly appreciated
