Discussion No post after Bios update Aorus B550M pro p, solved finally

i recently bought a new 4070 and thought it was time to update my bios from launch in 2020. I did everything correctly when it came to setting up a fat32 flash drive and renaming the file. i updated it via the q flash in the bios and after it completed the update it restarted the computer but it never posted. At this point I was in full panic mode. I waited about an hour with no luck. so i bit the bullet and powered down the system. I cleared CMOS but still nothing. I put in my old graphics card and same thing. I tried different display cables but it still wouldn't post. At this point i was about to just buy a new board because i don't have time for this. Then I tried one more thing. I pulled all of the ram and just used one stick in A2. And boom it posted. So then I thought I had a bad DIMM. So one by one i tried them all but the all worked. so then i tried two which worked then three which worked. But when i tried four nothing happened. So i took them out and kept one and entered the bios. After updating your bios it resets your bios settings. This meant i had no more XMP profile enabled. When i enabled the XMP it posted with all four. I do not know if this is a common known thing but i was so scared i bricked my pc. Hope this helps.

yes update bios mean resetting bios setting. that is not new.
