I recently bought a new Graphics card Gigabyte GT 730 1gb ddr3 64bit because my previous gpu wasn't design for gaming. But the problems is when I plug the GPU into it's slot, my PC won't run, it not even enter the BIOS and also no Post beeps and no display at all. But the GPU fan and others cooler fan is spinning. At first, I suspect that my PSU can't support or don't have enough power to run it since it was an old PSU that came together with my PC. But after doing some researched, I notice that most people who facing this issues solved it by simply updating their BIOS, I already tried doing the same but doesn't worked. My previous graphics card was AMD HD 5450 which not design for gaming. When I Insert the old graphics card, the PC worked fine. I already removed all the previous gpu drivers before installing the new one.
Should I buy a new PSU? Please help me solved my problems.

Here is my pc specs:
-ATX480w PSU http://www.lelong.com.my/e-view-atx-480w-psu-ijan87-163858135-2015-06-Sale-P.htm
-Gigabyte GA-VM900m Motherboard
-3gb ddr2 ram
-Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit OS
-Intel(R) core(TM)2 CPU 4400@2.00Ghz

Solution
If The 730 is running in another system, there are two options left
First power supply, the 730 does need about 30W more than your other card and the psu just have 280W real power. It's really a bad power supply.

Second: Incompatibility to the motherboard
Because you tried the latest bios, there would be no chance running the 730 on it, because the bios doesn't recognize the 730

But I think because nothing happens after you push the power button, it's the power supply.
Did you try the AMD HD 5450 again ?
Well that certainly isn't a quality power supply. However the 730 isn't a power hungry card either and likely doesn't use any more power than your previous card. Just a word about the GT 730, it's not going to be a great gaming card either. Probably better than what you had, but not by much.

One thing I would try is resetting you CMOS. If you have your motherboard manual, it should detail the procedure in there. It normally requires moving a jumper with the AC power disconnected (and sometime with the CMOS battery out) leaving it in the reset position for a few seconds and then moving it back. Again this should be detailed in the manual.

I only try removing the battery for like 13 minutes, but I don't have idea where the jumper is. How does it look like?

My BIOS version is F6 after i Updated.I don't update it to F7a since it was just BETA version

It's on the left side of the CMOS battery between PCI slots 1 & 2. It looks like it's only two pins, you need to place a jumper across it (short it with something).

This is copied / pasted from the manual:

Use this jumper to clear the CMOS values (e.g. date information and BIOS configurations) and
reset the CMOS values to factory defaults. To clear the CMOS values, place a jumper cap on the
two pins to temporarily short the two pins or use a metal object like a screwdriver to touch the two
pins for a few seconds.

Alright, I just did what you guys told me to do.. But still doesn't work, I don't hear any beeps and no display on my monitor. What I did is I update the bios first then clear the CMOS by jumper and removing the bios battery for 6 minutes. Is that the right way to do it?

Just shorting the jumper as per the quote I provided should be enough, the removal of the battery shouldn't be necessary, but won't hurt anything either.

So if i't still not POSTing, do you have another system you can try your 730 in? This will quickly determine if the card is DOA.

No, I don't have any other system that i can use to try the gpu. I don't think so if the card was DOA because it was a brand new and fresh card. Is there any other factor that could cause this issues?

I don't think so because most of my friend were using laptop instead of Computer. Maybe I could bring it to PC shops and ask them to try on their system.

That couldn't hurt. They may charge you something to do it, but at least you'll know then for sure.

Yes I do and it just worked fine, but hd5450 is just crapped gpu, screen will artifacts if I run 3d games.

I think so.. And according to Nvidia, GT730 need at least 300w psu which my PSU real power only 230w.

I always try to exhaust the free / least expensive troubleshooting steps before telling someone to run out an buy a new piece of hardware that may or may not fix their problem. However if you'd mentioned that you were having these issues (the HD5450 artifactin) in your original post, then I might have gone right to telling you to replace your PSU.

If you need a suggestion on what PSU to get, I'd suggest something from Seasonic, XFX, or EVGA Gs or G2 series. If you want something more specific, let us know where you live so we can direct you to a etailer in your country.

Well that's not much of a budget. There are no quality supplies at that price. The closest I could find that I'm even ashamed to recommend is the Corsair VS450 (a 450W supply), it is a Tier 4 PSU. Have a look at the link, scroll all the way down to the bottom.

Corsair VS450

This is in Malaysia. It's probably the best I can find there with your budget. Now hopefully this will sort out your problem as you didn't have any way to test your new card.

What about the CX600M ? should I take that too?

That's in the same tier as the one I "suggested", neither is a supply I would use personally. If you can get it in your price range then it's no better and no worse that the VS450. Hopefully with the low power draw of your system, that "600W" supply will maintain decent output.

sorry for the late replay, I just bought a new power supply today and already set it up. but the issues still appears :\. Would my MoBo probably the problems?
