Question No POST - clicking from internal speaker

PROBLEM:
PC will not boot - intermittent
- no POST screen

• Get clicking sound from internal speaker every 5 secs
• no other warning sounds

HARDWARE:
Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3
2 x G.Skill 8GBXL Main Memory DDR3 8 GB PC1600 CL9 Ram
Intel Core i7 4790, 1150, Haswell

FIXES TRIED:
- replaced m/b - thought I'd solved it - but then fault returned
- took out 1 RAM stick - then booted - but problem came back

Any ideas?

My only options left are to replace the PSU or both RAM chips.

which PSU is it? brand and model

More likely the PSU is faulty than the memory
