Greetings Tom's Hardware,

My problem begins with the previous motherboard I was using (an MSI 970A-G46), which worked fine until it would not post anymore; only the fans turned on and only for half a second and then shut off with no beep codes. I troubleshot all of the other components (listed below) and it came to either the mobo or cpu being bad.

I ended up ordering a new board (listed below) and it seems to be working better, but there is still no post; fans, gpu, hard drives, and disc drive all receive power and remain on, but with no beep codes still. I followed the 'No Post' guide on Tom's Hardware, but still no luck, so I RMA'ed the board but the same problem persists with the new one.

I did find someone with a similar issue, but with an older Rev of the board on Overclockers (http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=716283), and it seems they solved it by reseating the video card several times; I have done this, but to no avail so far.

So now I am currently contemplating buying a Sempron 145 to check if it may be the cpu that is the problem because I don't want to RMA the board again (just because of time), but before that I wanted to see if anyone here had any thoughts/ suggestions.

Thanks in advance for any/ all help.

try unplugging one thing from the power supply at a time and try to boot between them.. if you do boot, then your components are trying to draw too much power from your supply. also maybe a problem with the cord for the extra power that plugs in next to the cpu
