Question No POST with DIMM in A1 or A2 slots

I have a new ASUS ROG Strix Z490-H Gaming motherboard with a i9-10900K installed. I have two memory kits I've tried with it a set of Crucial Trident Gold (F4-3200C14D-32GTRG - 2x16 3200CL14) and a set of G.SKILL Ripjaw V (F4-3400C16Q-64GVK - 4x16 3400CL16). With the motherboard memory settings of 3200CL16-16-16-34 at 1.35 V ( well within spec for all the memory) the system will boot with any one or two of the DIMMs in B1 and/or B2 (I've tested all six DIMMs this way). However it won't get past the memory error LED If anything is plugged into A1 or A2 (both with and without B1& B2 populated).

I'm starting to run out of ideas and haven't found a good set of words to search for so I'm looking for help. Happy to take input on what might be going on or steps to debug this further.

No you don't, that's a GPU <GRIN>

[edit] and the Strix x570-E Gaming motherboard is an AMD motherboard so that's not it either.

Your absolutely right, I've been looking at too many Ryzen builds It's the ASUS ROG Strix Z490-H Gaming. I'll correct the main post.

Pulled the CPU, pins look fine. Also pulled the Motherboard just to double check for a short or any sign of damage on the back, but didn't see anything. Reassembled with no change.

Well I ordered another motherboard (ASUS ROG Strix Intel Z490-F Gaming) so I can see if it's a non-obvious issue there or if it follows the CPU. Fingers crossed
