Ok im trying to figure out what is going n with my lastyears new build, story goes the surge protector calbe fell out of the wall so my girlfriend plugged it back in with out turning the psu switch off(not sure if it matters i usually turn it off). the next day the PSU fail to start the computer when hitting the power button I did the paper clip test and it failed(even with a fan plugged in for load). I bought new PSU 1200w EVGA supernova and i plugged everything in made sure that all the connectors where pushed in all the way and then i powered it up. I started up un like my old PSU except that none of my 5 hard drives where powering up I check a old laptop drive that i had laying around and it runs. I also have it connected to my dvd drives and they are also powered. So my question is did all my hard drives get fryed from a surge or the dead PSU or could it be another issue maybe MB or New PSU . I currently dont have another computer to test the drives, I however order a new to try.
