No screen no post

hi guys i recently tried overclocking my system (ram mainly) and the pc restarted with bad bios checksum corrupt bios so i put the motherboard disk in to reflash the bios as stated in the manual and all seemed to go ok through the process however when the computer restarted there was not a post beep and nothingcomes on the screen however the disk draw activity light comes on i have been reading about the problem on the internet and they say ineed a floppy drive with the bios file on a floppy disk however i do notown a floppy drive so is there another way of getting my biosworking again

b50 3 cores unlocked at 3.1
mobo is a asus m4a78-e
4gb patriot memory 800mhz
1 dvd rom draw
500gb western didgital hdd
asus 5770 gfx card

just to clarify when i start the machine the fans spin and the disk draw light comes on but it does not post beep

Clear CMOS with the jumper or remove the battery for 10 minutes. This may help.

If it does not help, then download a recent version of the BIOS. Use Asus Crash Free BIOS if your motherboard supports it. Please read motherboard manual for further instructions.

hi thanks for the reply, i have tried re-setting the cmos and it has not worked as for
crash free bios my motherboard does support it (my board supports crash free bios 3) however i am unfamilliar with crash free bios could you go into moredetail as nothing is stated about it in the manual

Do it like this: Put the motherboard support CD into the DVD tray and restart your PC or put the latest BIOS file on to the USB flash drive. The BIOS file must be unzipped after it is downloaded from Asus and put on the root of the USB drive, such as X:\Asusbios.bin (where X: is assumed to be your USB flash drive).

Sorry I should add, First read the documentation that came with your motherboard or download one from Asus because different motherboards may have different procedures. Crash Free BIOS 3 will read the BIOS file, upon insertion, either from the CD-ROM or from USB flash drive itself depending on your choice. You should not touch anything or press the DEL key to enter BIOS. This is not a normal BIOS flash procedure.

The latest BIOS file for your motherboard is v. 2507 dated 04 June 2010.

When you download the new BIOS file from Asus, the file is zipped. It means the file has .zip extension. You must click/double-click this file in Win 7, Vista or XP. A folder opens. The file in this folder should have the .ROM extension. Just copy this file with .ROM extension on to an USB flash drive.

When your PC is off, insert the USB flash drive into one of the USB port and turn on your PC. That is it. Asus Crash Free 3 should take care of BIOS rescue job if your problem is just BIOS corruption.

Alternatively, if you have motherboard support DVD, turn on your PC and insert the support DVD into the DVD drive tray and close it. Then wait for Crash Free 3 to do its job. But the BIOS file on the DVD should be very old. You later update BIOS in the normal way.

Please note: The USB flash drive you will copy .ROM file on should have FAT32 file system.

No need if it is not NTFS. Almost all USB flash drives come with FAT file system.

Even recent BIOSs can read NTFS. My Asus P7P55D can read NTFS after recent BIOS updates.

First, take out the battery of your mobo, unplug your computer, then press power to relieve any power left in the psu caps. then put the battery and everything else back in to its respective place. This is known as a hard cmos clear. IT works most of the time.

Also when you do manage to get it up and running again. Make sure you set up the time and date in the bios. Otherwise you may have to repeat...

will the bios flash from the motherboard disk if it is a dvd and not a cd ? as i have also tried putting the bios file on a blank 4.7gb dvd disk aswell as using the driver dvd

Did you insert the USB stick when PS was off and restart ?
