I have NO signs what so ever to the system, no lights, no beeps nothing.
The following is the steps I've tried.

Note: I just moved back from overseas, the computer was in storage for many months, but was working fine for the last 5 months.

System configuration when it stopped working (wife was using it when it shut off twice with a message she did not record, third time it wouldn't turn on at all.

Computer showed NO sign of life at all, no lights no beeps no fan at the power supply.

When It stopped working, the power supply was under warranty so I simply sent it back (was in a hurry and this seemed the most logical issue). They sent me a NEW power supply (in shrink wrap, looks like it had never been used and is 1000W so same model now but more power. Plugged it in STILL nothing.

Pulled all the power connections and put a paperclip to pins 15 and 16, flip the switch and the power supply comes on. Plug it back in, nothing.

Change the CMOS battery, Nothing.

Pull the power switch leads, put a paper clip across them, flip the switch, nothing.

Thinking then that only leaves the motherboard, I purchase this. motherboard

1 x ASRock Z77 Extreme3 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Fully install it and all the components, nothing.
pull the memory, nothing.
pull all the drive SATA cables, nothing.

Thoughts?

did you test the new motherboard outside the case? this should be the first test to find that new psu and new motherboard deff working. if they do work tear apart everything left in the case something must be short circuiting and put back in. usually the add on fans or card readers fan controllers other fancy stuff?

I tried a different power cord, nothing.
I pulled everything but the MB and the Power supply in the case (and remember this is the second motherboard, so I had to rip it out the first time).
Nothing

did you forget 4 or 8 pin motherboard power? this is the thing most people forget :) but you should just take outside the new motherboard and new psu and attach only the cable to monitor and test. if it works rest of the stuff in the case suspicious.

No, I have the 8 pin connector to the CPU power.
So you suggest pull the PSU and motherboard and NOTHING else plugged in except the monitor? How to I power it up without the switch?

in that case test old motherboard same way. you can sell it to save some cash or send new one back.

now do all outside add part by part all the peripherals then do a good cleaning inside the case then put back all in if everything is working outside.
