The issue started a few days ago just when playing games but now it's just gone to everyday usage aswell and I seem to be getting the no signal problem whenever I load up a game and after about 10 of browsing the internet, I was wondering if this is a fault in my gtx 970 or weather it could be anything else because if it is the gpu I will likely return it and get a 1060 instead as they're more effiecient or so I've heard anyway, so I'm basically just asking is the issue of 'no signal' my gpu.. thanks.

Solution
The no signal means there are no signal coming from your system unit that generated of your GPU. This is a no display problem, you can try to fix by removing the gpu and the ram and clean it and insert it again correctly. But during test do not connect your HDD, if the display now is normal connect your HDD and have to powerup your PC.
