No signal from monitors

Turned my PC on today to find it was not displaying on any of my monitors. So I checked if it was any of the monitors. One by one none would display. So I tried them all via on board graphics all the monitors worked. So my gpu a evga gtx 970 needed a look at. I checked if it was getting power. Fans spinning like normal and motherboard (z170-a) power led to pci express slot one goes on during post then off like normal.
PC boots fine and into Windows like normal via on board gpu.
I don't have another graphics card laying around to see clearly if it's the gpu or motherboard... I did check and use a different or second pcie slot with the same result. As I can use onboard graphics I can see that bios does not detect the gtx 970 in any of the two pci slots. Is this my gpu? Or somethings else? I tried all sockets on the 970. HDMI, dvi and the other one nothing from the 970 just spinning fans. No detection in bios. None in device manager. Nothing changed in bios lately.

Asus Z170-a
6700k
Corsair hx750i psu
Gskill Trident z 16 gig ram
Evga gtx 970 that is not new and I have used with no issue in this current PC and an old build for two years. 8 months no issues in current build. It has 3 years warranty also.
One year remains on it.

Any advice welcome .

Try resetting the BIOS to defaults, unplug from wall, remove the CMOS battery for about 10 seconds, try again.
If it still gets no signal, you need to test the card it in another system.

Maybe check for a newer BIOS and chipset drivers while on the onboard video and working.

Thank you for your response. I cleared cmos and no joy. Everything else I tried. I have just RMA the graphics card. I will reply if it's not the gpu.

It was the gpu. Evga was very quick with the replacement too. So not to bad
