So here's my problem...

I recently bought a new graphics card for my pre-built Dell Inspiron 3847. I decided to buy a graphics card and a new power supply to go with that. I also bought a vga to dvi-i adapter. I came home to install the new graphics card and it gives me a no signal error. This was for the vga and dvi-d options on my monitor. There is no analog or digital option, only vga and dvi-d.

Here's was i think is wrong:

Bad monitor: Someone told me ATI cards don't go with vga to dvi adapters.

Not powerful enough power-supply: Someone told me i need a higher wattage power supply

Mother-board: The dell motherboards so i dont know if this is whats preventing me allowing signal

UEFI: Heard this is whats causing the blockage and have to turn this off on windows 8(which i have)

If any of these are the problem, i might spend a liitle to change it up.
