Hello, I have just recently built a pc for my wife. Specs are
Asus m4a77t/usb3 mobo
Evga gtx560 gpu
1tb western digital hd
Amd phenom II x4 processor
Antec 550w atx12v v2.3 psu

I'm under the assumption that the gpu should automatically disable the on board gpu. The problem is I cannot get a display at all. I have tried everything at my disposal. After reading through numerous threads on similar issues I have :

Breadboarded the build
Taken entire build apart and rebuilt.
Reset cmos/bios
Checked and reseated RAM, as well as trying various configurations.
Verified all cables and connections are secure.
Tried hdmi mini port on gpu
Tried both dvi ports on gpu

This mobo only has the 9pin monitor connection like a serial port. I do not have a monitor that will connect to this cga/ega port. I have no access to bios to try to disable on board gpu. I also can't find any information about my specific gpu that says whether or not it has an led to indicate it is working. Fan on gpu is running. Psu is connected to gpu using 6+2 pci express cable. Led on mobo is steady green ram checks out. I also do not have access to an alternate gpu at this time. This mobo and gpu were used by a friend and given to me when he upgraded. I know they were working together previously. Apologies for the long post but I am at my wits end and any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Can you check by connecting you monitor to onboard graphics? by just removing the GPU?

I can't. All monitors and hd tvs I have are incompatible with the on board gpu. It only has the 9 pin ega/cga port( looks like a serial port). I have tried the dvi and hdmi ports on the the gtx560 gpu but have nothing that will work with the on board gpu

I believe in this case, your onboard Graphics is enabled and you have to manually enable the PCI E graphics from the Bios.
you can try CGA to VGA connector to connect your monitor and then manually change the bios settings for display and then try the PCI-e graphics display.

Thanks for the input. I have been told that a cga/ega to vga adapter won't work. The cga/ega port is a digital signal, while the standard vga is analog. If this isn't the case I would be super stoked.
