Hello, i upgraded from a GTX 970 to a RX Vega 56 (For FreeSync). But since my upgrade i'm only encountering problems.
I have a LED on my motherboard above my PCI Express port that tells me if my graphic card is detected. Sometimes the led will not light, and i will have ''no signal'' on my display (ACER XF240H connected via DisplayPort). Sometimes the LED will light white (White LED is when the card detect a PCIE 8x Card instead of a 16x). I will then have signal on my Display but my PC will be laggy, bad fps in all games, screen will freeze randomly, random black screens with ''no display'' untill i reboot, ect.. Sometimes the led will light RED (How it's supposed to be, red is for x16 PCIE card). Display will have signal, but with some lags, FPS will be correct. But again sometimes everything will froze. Can't do anything. Random black screens with ''no signal''. And sometimes also, the red LEDS that lights on the Vega (the leds that tells you it's % comsuption or idk) will not light at all, sometimes they will but like 1/2 min after the boot. Sometimes they will light instantly... I'm lost.
I then bought a new PSU, thinking it was coming from it. But same problem. It has happened on any drivers versions, i updated my motherboard BIOS, nothing. Tried on HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI. Same problem. Tried a clean install of Windows. Used DDU for clean drivers installs. So at this point i don't know what to do. Lastly i tried on a the second PCIE port of my motherboard. White LED since this port is 8x, but the problems are still here. So it can't be my motherboard ? And my 1070 was working perfectly. Card is alimented by 2x8 pins like it's meant to be.
TLDR : Sometimes my Vega will be no detected on my PCIE port, sometimes it will be as a 8x card with instable results, sometimes as a 16x card with instable results but better perfomances. Lot of black screens with ''No signal''. Lot of freezes (in game or even on desktop).
Should i RMA it ? Or can it be my Pci port or my PSU ? I don't have any others GPU so i can't try with another one. 🙁
Thanks for the help.
