Question No sound after 8/10/22 Windows update

Last night I saw the notification update so I set my computer to update and shut down as I always do.

This morning I have no sound from my PC other than the SoundBlaster test tones. Nothing from WMP, games, or online videos. I have a SoundBlaster Z and have not changed any settings myself.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Look for related errors in Reliability History and Event Viewer.

Try running the built in Windows Troubleshooters. The Troubleshooters may find and fix something.

Check Update History via "View Update History" in the search box. Any problem updates?

Try "sfc /scannow" and "dism".

The troubleshooters never find anything. But I did finally see that the update set two different speakers as default, so when I removed the extra one, my sound came back.
