No Sound GTX

Just upgraded my crap of a gpu to the EVGA FTW HYBRID GEFORCE GTX 1080 but after I had did this I get no sound I tried switching my speakers and head phones to the rear on board port and to the front port and nothing. I uninstalled drivers and reinstalled. I uninstalled again and then tried the CD drivers and still nothing. I then reformat my PC and yet still nothing im kind of stumped at this point. When im in the sound menu where it list what I have hooked in it shows that I dont have anything hooked in the pc on front and rear ports which I thought was weird. Cant switch the devices to be my primary sound out put if it says nothing is plugged in.

That caught me out too when I installed a graphics card which had an integrated sound chip. This is how I fixed it:

Uninstall the GTX 1080 drivers completely, then use custom install to reinstall GTX 1080 drivers but be sure to deselect (untick) GeForce sound drivers before proceeding with the installation.
