No sound input (can't use microphone)

My sound output works fine but whenever i try to communicate via voicechat in videogames it just doesnt do anything. My headset mic is completely fine. I think it might be my mobo that is causing the problems.
ASrock 970 extreme 3 r2.0
gtx 1050
2 gb ram
fx 6300 @3.5 ghz

Goto -- Start -- Type "Sound" -- click on speaker icon -- goto recording tab... Does you mic show up there? If yes click on it and test it. Likely just game settings to get it to use that Mic
