No sound on Left Speaker

Hi guys.
First of all, I'm not exactly tech savvy 🙂
(I bet you get that all the time..lol)

I have no idea if the left speaker is the rear or front btw....?

Ok...

I have Altec Lansing PC speakers, using Realtek HD Audio.
Recently the left speaker has stopped working for everything other than my Traktor DJ Software (Using my DJ Controller)

So when listening to something through Itunes, Youtube or any other media players the left speaker has no sound.
There is also no sound when you test the speaker on the Audio Manager.

There is an audio lead which goes from the back of the Altec sub to the standard pc audo port, and then I have my controller connected using a lead which is connected to a different port where the volume control is.
(I have no idea what this port would be called. They are both regular headphone jack sized ports)

This is the same set up as I have used for a while now.
Disconnecting the Controller lead doesn't change anything.

I have tried tweaking lots of different settings on the audio manager and sound settings but I have no idea what I'm changing most of the time.
Nothing has worked so far...

I use Vista by the way.
