No Sound

Please can you advise what I need to do I have no sound on my computer, I have tried all the test asked, and still no sound. No yellow symbols on sound devices. I do get the following message in DirectX Diagnois DirectSound test results: Failure at step 19 (User verification of software): HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code)
