Question No Sound?

I have a refurbished Dell Optiplex 790 desktop, and from yesterday I have no sound
it was fine before.
Does it need a driver update or something?
Any help gratefully received.

Meant to say..............

I have a "Nicole" ( i think it may be Logitech?) speaker system consisting of a Sub, with 2 speakers right & left.
the wires/cables go into the sub, so I assume there is an amp in there?
There are the cables with mini-jack from the PC to it, plus two RCA cables going L/R to the speakers.
