No stereo option in Vista

I am using 32-bit Windows Vista. I was looking for the stereo option. I enabled the disabled devices in the recording window, but still nothing new appeared. I just see a microphone icon in the recording window. I am using High Definition Audio Device, i have updated my sound driver but, no success. Please help me to turn on my Stereo in Vista.

you need to go to playback devices, and then configure and set it to use a 2 speaker setup!

My bad!...when i enable the 2 speaker setup and disable the 1 speaker setup. I dont hear any sound. The volume control is moving, but no sound!

What should i do now!

are your speakers plugged in correctly, make sure they are plugged into a green connector on your computer

I have a laptop with built-in speakers, there are no external ones.
