Today I did clean my dustfilters on a Define R4. Since I got problem with removing before without opening my computer. So I did it while it was still on. After I removed my dustfilters and got them on place. My computer froze. And the keyboard and mouse didn't work (no power I guess). Therefore I tried restarting, that made the computer go on and off again and again around 5 times. Then I did switch the computer off. After that my computer got no video signal.

After that I tried to fix to see if there was a cabble hanging. There was no cable. So I tried to take the cable for videocard and other main component but there was no fix for it. So guys could you help me.

I did use antistatic wrist wrap and was on a plastic surface so how could I be able to zap it? 🙁

General specs.

I said again. I did it before. You can't zap a computer by simply touching it. Yeah it was on. But when you remove 2 "dirtfilters" without being close to any of the components. Thats why I said Define R4...

Clearing the CMOS is a good start.

I've personally had similar problems after I disassembled my PC to individually clean components. The couple of times this happened to me, it was because the GPU wasn't seated well enough back into the PCIe slot. Perhaps you may have bumped that?

Would never suggest getting into the case while it's running though! Hope you didn't fry anything.

Again people don't understand you ARE NOT GOING INTO THE CASE when cleaning filters. Like seriuos. People again and again say that it is that. I was not in the case. I was just touching plastic. Thanks for help tho.

You can't zap a computer by simply touching it. Yeah it was on.
If you really think that it is safe to work on computer components whilst they are powered then do continue doing so. But I suspect you are going to zap a few more things before you change your mind.

It's always dangerous to work on a computer with power applied. One small slip could short something out. Even just disturbing a card could damage it.
I ... was on a plastic surface so how could I be able to zap it?
Again, that increases your chances of doing damage. A plastic surface will increase the electrostatic charge that builds up in your body. The more earthed you are the better.

I didn't mean plastic. I don't know what material it is. It is something I bought to have under me that is antistatic so just in case if I didn't have the antistatic wrist on me. But I got both things. Plastic is the wrong word then. Sorry.

I stand behind my comment. Don't clean your PC while it's on. You're just asking for something bad to happen. Now that it has happened, your stance is that it can't be because you cleaned it while it was on.

Static electricity is the difference between your bodies (static) charge, and the un-powerd computer chips. when it is powered on, you're not as worried about static charge as you are about real voltages and amperage going through the computer, that could easily go through you. Using a static wristband(tied to ground) while the pc is powered on actually increases your chance of having current go through you as is may be an easier way for the electricity to get to ground than going through the computer(you're actually reducing your resistance with a wristband).

Pull the power cord from the PSU. Push(and hold) the power button for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and try it.

disconnect all drive cables. remove all ram except for 1, remove all cards except for videocard, reseat the videocard. reseat the power cables to the motherboard & videocard if it uses one. clear the cmos. reconnect the the power cord to computer. cross your fingers & press the power button.

I don't understand anymore. Checked my CPU that is fine in other build. Checked GPU in other build that is fine. Tried almost all components and still fine. What the actually fuck could be the problem. CMOS is resetted. Checked on the internet how other does it. And tried it. Still nothing.

Sorry for swearing. Sorry, just not my day today... What way should I try to CMOS since there is allot of ways to do it but what is the right way ?

disconnect the power cord 1st & not because of what has happened. clear the cmos by moving the black, red or blue plactic jumper from pins 1 & 2 to pins 2 & 3 if board uses 3 pins for a few seconds or use a slot screwdriver to short the 2 pin version. reconnect the power cord, cross your fingers & press the power button.

What with a 46amp single rail psu say? that will hurt, potential to kill anyone, dont talk rubbish s***.

Looks like ffg7 was on the right track then. I've had frustrating experiences with bad memory being hard to diagnose, but it seems so simple once you switch out some new dimms.
