So my custom built PC stopped working like 3 months ago and today I finally got around to (try and) fix it.
The problems originated with the RAM. When I tried to turn it on, it just kept giving some long constant beeps. Looked it up and found out it was a problem with the ram. So I took out a DIMM and the beeps went away but it gave out zero signal. The keyboard didn't even detect that the machine was running. So I put back the DIMM but next to the other one (disabling dual channel), again same problem. Gives me no output. So I did a little researching and found out these problems can be fixed by rubbing a rubber/eraser on the golden pins. And so I did and finally the single short beep on power was sounded. I was thrilled until it gave me no signal to the monitor.
I wanna do the same procedure as I did with the RAM. (Checking each indivudal card to see which one is faulty.) but there is a tiny little pin in the way of the bracket thing that you screw into to secure the GPU. And now I can't get either of my two GTX 280s (don't laugh. plz) out.
The monitor is two months old and working perfectly and the cable is dvi d and the connector in the GPU is dvi I. In case u wanted to know.
Please help me. I really need this machine to work.
