I just returned from being out of the country on business and my wife has told me that her Lenovo E-570 is not able to access any of our wifi networks. We are currently able to access the internet via ethernet cable directly from the router.
Here are the details for your consideration:
Laptop - Lenovo E-570
Router - Netgear WNDR4500 v.2 (firmware - V1.0.0.72_1.0.45)
# of devices connected - 13
Modem - Motorola SB6141
Not sure of the specs of the laptop
Wireless adapter - Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 with driver version 12.0.0.714
OS - Win10 Home
ISP - Xfinity with cable modem (Customer owned)
Having not had access to the machine for over two months, I am having to start at square one. The machine was connected during the time that Xfinity hack period. The router and modem have been power cycled to start.
I have seen that this wireless adapter has had its fair share of issues. I have seen multiple potential resolutions, but I'm hesitant to head down some as the resolution was "well it worked for me" but there doesn't seem to be a definitive single answer. So, before I start to make a lot of changes, I wanted to present to the community and start out right.
Prior to this, the machine has successfully connected to any and all wifi networks here. All other devices are currently connecting without issue as well.
When attempting to access any of the wireless networks, the error message under the wifi name is "No internet, secured".
I have:
Completed all Windows updates
Completed all firmware and BIOS updates
Completed all Lenovo Vantage updates
Router firmware is up to date
In Control Panel>Network & Internet>Network Status (Red lettering - 'No Internet access')
In Control Panel>Network & Internet>Network Connections>Wifi (view status of this connection), both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity show -'No Internet access'
Network wifi password has been checked and verified on both the Netgear router webpage and wifi properties field.
