I'd rather get a HAF 912 Plus case for £5 more. It has high air flow, hence the name 'HAF' (High Air Flow)

I've been thinking about a SSD but it takes it way over budget. I would've loved to had one though.

But what would the benefits be actually in game and with o/cing over a normal HDD. I know that load times are dramatically reduced but how will it effect things like the FPS in game and things like that?

I dunno how to explain it...its like..dips in your FPS. I see alot of people with the issue in Diablo III. They will go from there normal FPS and then it will stutter and drop from lets say 100 fps to 60 fps until the hard drive catches up. May people have fixed this issue by putting the files accessed onto a USB flash drive, but realistically if your gonna do that you might as well upgrade your hdd. Other than 'stuttering' I dont really know how to explain it. This is not all games either, but rarely does a game not access your hdd.

I may eventually upgrade to ssd but will see what happens. It y be worth getting one once I eventually SLI the gtx 670 and the case is open again.

The Noctua NH-D14 Wont fit in a mid tower case!!! :non:

Epic fail...I may like my Hyper 212 better than the Noctua, but they both will fit most mid cases. There may be a couple out there it wont, but it would have to be some back water case that hardly anyone has bought.

The Noctua NH-D14 Wont fit in a mid tower case!!! :non:
I've already looked into that and yes, there are a few out there that it won't fit in but the cases I've been interested in are all over 200mm wide which should accommodate the NH-d14. There's is even a review with one of the cases I've been thinking about getting (cooler master storm enforcer) that is quite a thin case compared to some and that says it just fits in.

Well my noctua NH-d14 has arrived today and it's a beast. If this was a human, it would need a crane to get out of bed and would probably have a leg missing due to type 2 diabetes. It's certainly on the overweight size.

So that's the 1st part of my build delivered. I got this 1st as it was on offer for £34.99 delivered, which I thought was a bargain.

The question is now, what do I get next?

No, they were the 2 parts I still hadn't really made my mind up on yet.

The reason why it doesn't make too much of a difference in BF3 is because that game is very GPU focused. You still want a good CPU to run it, but not much of an FPS difference will be made between an AMD FX or an i5. (in that game)

Remember to mount the Noctua NH-D14 pipes horizontally in your case for optimal cooling.

Also the fans need to be installed so that the airflow is down onto the motherboard in preference to away from

it for optimum cooling (as per Noctua's instructions).

Don't put excessive thermal paste between the mounting and processor heads, it will lower cpu heat extraction if you do.
