I had the same issue with Cougar fans with their supposed "hydro dynamic bearing". It's tough to take a company's word on bearings, a lot of companies like to like or just come up with some names and can get away with it legally. Half the fans out there are really just sleeve fans named something else.

Like the majority of FDB fans do not use the actual FDP bearing that must be licensed through Matsuhita/Panasonic. They get away with calling a sleeve bearing FDB.

Yeah, I will say that the Noctua tan/browns I've had perform awesomely. I think I have 4 of them through my few computers and one may even be 10 years old and still working.

A Big-Mac is 2x all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. Easily recognizable. Change anything, it's not really a Big-Mac anymore. You are talking about Noctua fans. Nobody else uses those colors or in that combination. Change those colors, (Redux or industrial) and they really are no longer the same fan.

My Delta Electronics fans are also still functional. They have been annoying my neighbors for a decade now.
