[citation][nom]evilsizer[/nom]Google taking more control away from other companies might be a good thing. Companies take the operating system and lock the hell out of it. Imagine getting an Android that you felt no need to root? One of the reasons I'm looking forward to the X Phone.[/citation]One really nice thing about WP is that there's no need to root it. Everything on there is fair game for removal, even carrier and manufacturer preloaded stuff, out of the box. Google needs to follow suit, here.
[citation][nom]phatboe[/nom]While I do agree that Android is becoming a more closed ecosystem, it's still a lot more open than WinMo. The board needs to tell Mr. Elop to STFU about google and Android because everytime he opens his mouth about it It should make shareholders less confident in the company.[/citation]To be fair to Mr. Elop, I'm not certain he was saying it was a BAD thing that Android was becoming more closed. It's certainly one way to reduce fragmentation, even though it might tick off some parties.
