Hi. I'm getting hard freeze hangups when I play only certain games, for example Archeage and Riders of Icarus. I can play other MMO's like DCUO and Aion just fine, but the 2 games mentioned before always cause my computer to hard freeze, and the only thing I can do is hold the power for 4 seconds to restart my computer. I checked the Event Viewer and all I get is the Kernel Power Event ID 41, and nothing else. I am not sure what could be causing the hard freezes?

go to your motherboard vendors website and update the motherboard audio driver and the Ethernet network driver. you might also go into windows control panel and turn off high definition sound drivers that do not have a speaker connected to them.

the Ethernet driver update is suggested because old versions of Ethernet drivers can cause streaming software and virus scanners to get errors that cause your graphic driver to stop responding.
(mostly happens on NVidia GPU when you have shadowplay enabled and it is enabled by default)

note: some motherboards, mainly MSI boards might require a BIOS update when you update the network driver. Mainly if you are using some of their more advanced network features implemented in BIOS.

I just updated my BIOS and I am now updating my Audio driver. Just updated my graphics driver as well before I updated my BIOS. I dont think my LAN driver has had an update but I will run it again to be sure.
