Perhaps I need to provide more info. The account "u1" used to exist. I created it for testing purposes. It used to show up on the Welcome screen as one of the accounts I could login to. I no longer needed the account, so I deleted it along with any files associated with it. When I use my account "ray" (with admin rights) to look at what accounts are on the machine, "u1" does not show. What shows is mine (ray), guest (off) and privileged server. I'm not absolutely positive which account is being used to try the login when I power up because it doesn't show one. It used to use my account (no password) when I powered up to login, but now all I get is a message about the wrong password and I then have to use the "switch user" facility to make use of my account which does let me login. I can get the Welcome screen to show the "u1" account as one of those I can use but there isn't any "u1" account on the machine at this time. If I do a switch user after the initial error message from power up and then do a switch user and then do it again, I get a Welcome screen with the non-existent user "u1" as a choice. What I need is a way to completely rebuild the Welcome screen! Any thoughts on how to do that? Or any thoughts on how to get win7 to use my account (ray) as the account to use for autologin when I power up the PC?
