Question non flashing underscore on startup

Hi all
in the past few days my pc has all of a sudden on boot come up with just a black screen with an underscore, but it isn't even blinking...
I can get past it by powering off my pc and powering it back on again but its happening more and more regularly.
anyone know what could be going wrong?

hdd could be failing? run any health test?

just ran chkdsk and it came up with nothing, then chkdsk/spotfix and restarted so it could do its thing, it moved so quick I couldn't see if anything was fixed or not,
not happened since... so maybe?
also I currently only have ssds connected to my system
