Noob trying to install GeForce 6600 GT

I know nothing about how to go about installing this thing and am not even sure if it's compatable with my computer, I have an AMD Athlon XP 3000+, 960mb (at least that's what my somewhat less innept friend tells me). I got this as a gift along with the game Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and I'm told to do everything I can to play it :roll:. I don't even know where to begin (after removing my computer cover that is), the most I know is that I should start with figuring out which thing to pull from my computer tower.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In order to find if it compatible you need to determin what kind of board it is. I am assuming that your 6600 GT is goin to be a PCI xpress card. So your board will need a PCI xpress slot. Once you do that report back here and me or someone else can further assist


PS. I might not be completely right, but im guesin that ur board is compatible with the card. That is based on the CPU ur are using. If that is true all you have to do is delete your video drivers, take out the video card, replace card, start computer up, and then load the video drivers again.
