Noob's CPU and MB compatible question. HELP!

This is my first build, i chose the Pentium G3258 and the ASUS B58M-G. According to Linustechtips, they are compatible( i checked on asus support page). But when i check on pcpartpicker, they said the board need update to work with haswell refresh.
So my question is when first boot( with the older BIOS) will it works? Or i need another CPU that works with the motherboard out of the box to update the board then use the Pentium? Or i just put the g3258 in and boot, update? I m a noob, so any help counts.

If the board doesn't have the required update, the CPU will not run on it. The only option then would be to get a compatible CPU and flash the BIOS.

However, manufacturers update the Motherboards' BIOS in their assembly line soon after the release of a new compatible CPU, so unless you get a really old piece, the board will likely have an update from factory itself.

pcpartpicker is correct it may need a bios update to use newer chips,if the bios is out of date you need an older cpu to update it
