Now trying out nordvpn free trial and so far I'm impressed. I think the rating should be higher as I did not experience any major speed drops or buffering while streaming us netflix. In addition, their app is very easy to use for everyone.

Been using Nordvpn for a while now and never seen any drops in speed. To the ones who are complaining I suggest to check with their ISP

Big thanks to nord's support team! I'm a new client and had a bit of a challenge to set up it on linux as they don't have linux native app but the girl from support was so helpful and friendly! A big plus for great communication with clients. Definetely recommending it to others.

Well, my personal favourite is Nord. I'm almost always streaming netflix from different places in the world and did not once experienced any issues. Last summer I was traveling not just around Australia but Indonesia too and it still performed nicely, so if anyone is planning holidays in the near future - nord is the one to take it with you.

NordVPN has offfers a great deal. $99 for 3 years. There are plenty of pluses with this company. I guess you get what you paid for. The one HUGE negative is bandwidth. When I was at PlanetFitness, I was using NordVPN. The download bandwidth was max at 500 kilobyte / seconds. When I disconnected Nord VPN, the download return to 6 Megabytes / second. I try reconnect NordVPN using different servers, but the results are the same. I am max at 500 kilobytes /second. I tried this at the public library and my university library and the results are the same.....500 kilobytes per second. The question is: Is NordVPN capping their subscribers at 500 kilobytes / second in bandwidth? I hope NordVPN is reading this and fix it because the download speed is too slow. ~ Alexander John Ung from the USA.

I have to wonder how people are measuring their speeds (especially those who say there connection is never slow with NordVPN). I just started with NordVPN and if I do a speed test I get 90M on a 100M service. No problem there. However, when downloading something real (a 180M update to software I own) I noticed my download speed was under 8M. I tried again with NordVPN turned off and my speed was 80M. I also noticed a severe slow down when trying to load Amazon Prime through NordVPN in my browser. The page would not even load properly the connection was slowed down so much. I don't have any problems for Netflix, but that's not a surprise since you only need about 6M for that (so "no buffering" for Netflix isn't much of a test of speed).

i'm never using public wifi without a vpn anymore as you're risking your personal data being leaked. who would want that? especially when there's a cheap and easy solution for that. that's why i've purchased nord, after reading many reviews online and seeing that it shines on different ranking sites like pcmag, thebestvpn etc. so far would give it 10/10.

Found NordVPN on a 77% deal so decided to go for it. After almost two months of using it (me and my girlfriend tbh because of 6 devices are available at once) am still happy with it. I would consider myself just an average user, torrenting a movie or an album time from time but not too much, felt a basic speed drop but that was ok. I keep seeing good reviews of it, a lot of my beloved youtubers are also talking about nordvpn that makes me feel even more sure about my decision.

I'm using Nordvpn as it's one of the few providers that aren't based in the USA. If you're choosing a vpn service mainly for security reasons be sure to look up where their headquarters are.. Nord is based in Panama, which means they definitely aren't keeping any logs.. good to know. In addition they offer features like double encryption, killswitch, cybersec to block ads. What more could you ask for?

Never leave a comment, but after the funniest chat I had with customer support, I thought this one deserves positive feedback on my part. In general, an excellent product that provides us with a much-needed security

If you need a VPN for your trip to China choose Nord. It worked great with all of these restrictions. My rating 10/10

Don't know how to check if your VPN is securing your data enough but I see the fact that my speed did not change a bit after I've started using Nord. For me it doesn't slow my usual activities and Netflix works almost perfect. Sometimes I just need to look for a better working servers but that's okay as there are plenty providers that are blocked by Netflix for sure and you won't even have a chance to stream it.

I have tested and reviewed a number of VPN providers. Nord has top notch support and reputation for no logs. While the speed has been slower on Android I get very good speeds on desktop. +/- 30MB

Since I plan on dropping my Comcast (hate those people) but retain my Windstream, I only will have 20MB anyway so no loss of speed at all.

Where I have had considerable problems with NordVPN is connecting to Amazon's site. You have to hunt around for a specific IP to do that otherwise no go.

I tried the service but I too had speed issue, my Internet is slow in my apartment for some reasons and it made speed more slow. I had to switch. Bought 3 years subscription of PureVPN in $1.92 a month an it's working better with the speed and servers.

It failed out of the box; everything was installed correctly; authentication error and failed to connect time and time again after tech support said to make a password with no special characters; diagnostic log files sniff your apps and hardware from your computer - these are not good signs from a company that is supposed to protect your information

PeterKendrick your comment seems to be a bit unreasonable? Recently switched to Nordvpn from purevpn because it was unbearable to use. Can't see a reason you did that? Overall I can say Nordvpn is a joy to use, would definitely recommend to anyone

I just bought Nordvpn because I'm planning a trip to China to visit my family next month. Have anyone heard that China's government blocked many vpn services and now you can barely find a working one? I've talked with my friends in Beijing, and they recommended to purchase Nord, so I guess if anyone needs a vpn for China - Nord is the best option right now.

as a freelancer, working in different cafes and spots around the city, i use public wifi very often, so a vpn is a must for me. i use nord on a daily basis for protection and so far did not have any problems with speeding. never tried other providers, but i'm happy with the service i get and have no need to change it.

FATAL PROBLEM WITH NORD VPN

So the performance is excellent, the apps is good, and customer support is also good.

But the service runs ALL of the time - even if you are not running the application (such as when you are home and do not need a VPN, necessarily).

The service STOPS you from wirelessly printing and also casting media (like to a TV). The only way to fix this is to manually shut down the process.

Why is the service always running and why does it communicate periodically with Panama - for app updates? Why not do that when the app runs?

I'm in the U.S. and I get less than half the speed I pay my ISP for, with Nord. I use a MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad. My most recent tests showed 39 ms ping time, and 20.1 mbps download speeds with Nord running. When Nord is not running, I get 98 mbps.
What's worse is making connections when traveling. We recently traveled parts of Europe and England, and out of 50 tries, I was able to connect to Nord VPN 2 times with my iPad. Using a VPN on public WiFi is when you really need it.

This echoes my experience - I tried both PIA and Nord --I did speed tests 4 times with both - Nord VPN dropped my download speed to between 25% and 50% of no-VPN speed. PIA had barely any impact. I didn't need to know anything else. Although Nord seems to have better features and I like the App UI - none of that matters if it slows my speed that much. Plus, it turns out, there's no way to cancel your service and get a refund on the website, through your account. You have to request it by email. I don't like services that make me beg for a refund. I just wrote to them for a refund and instead got an email asking me about half a dozen technical questions. While I appreciate the effort to help solve the problem - I didn't report a problem - I asked to cancel one day after signing up.
