Not able to get 144hz on my second monitor

I have a problem...

So i have a Acer Predator xb271hu and i decided to buy another one but i'm unable to get both monitors working at 144hz, I can get one to work at 144hz and the other at 60hz.

When i try and change the monitor to 144hz it comes up with no signal.

What could be wrong?
Faulty monitor,Some setting,or displayport cable?

Also i can't get nvidia surround to work.

The monitor that won't work at 144hz is the new one i just bought.

My pc specs are...
Intel i5 8400
mobo Asus Z370-F gaming
GPU Asus Strix GTX 1080
16gigs of ram

What connections are you using? Are both monitors connected with Display Port cable?

If you disconnect the old monitor, can you run the new one at 144Hz ?

Both monitors are using displayport, and i'm just about to try using the new monitor by it self, i'l let you know in the next hour how it goes.

Okay so i tried the new monitor by it self... no luck (
Then i tried the new monitor with a different displayport cable, and i got 144hz
Turns out it was a 5 meter displayport cable that i bought 3 months ago thats faulty.
I'm now using the displayport cable that came with my monitor and seems to be working fine, i haven't tested Nvidia surround yet so i'l test that tomorrow and update this thread again tomorrow.
