Not able to max out Crysis 3 Alpha with GTX 670?

PC Specs:

Intel i5 3570k @ 3.4ghz
8GB DDR3 RAM
EVGA GTX 670 2GB FTW Edition
Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)

I'm not able to max out Crysis 3. Are my specs just simply not powerful enough to run the game at max or am I doing something wrong here? Will I need to do some overclocking or is that not necessary? I've heard the GTX 670 is pretty close to the 680 and my friend uses a 680 and he can run the game smoothly with an Intel i5 2500k. What's the problem here?

The 2500k is equally as powerful as the 3570k in gaming terms since either can be overclocked to the same gains, and his GPU is slightly faster than yours.

Also it is an alpha so you can expect discrepancy in driver support to behave differently from one piece of hardware to another. No mystery here. Overclock your 670, and clock your 3750k up to about 4.4-4.5 ghz assuming that you have a reasonable cpu-cooler, just to help alleviate any potential bottlenecking due to poor optimization of the game's alpha.

overclocking will likely give very little. your gonna have to wait for offical driver support of get them off the devs. if its a closed alpha you can ask them to upload them to the cloud. if its an open alpha your just gonna have to suck it up...
saying as its on the cryengine 3 platform its unlikely to be much more demanding as crysis 2 was other than lod there will be little difference. as alphas often are stress testing hardware rather than server numbers its a lot more likey that you will need to drop details to medium or below to get an acceptable 60 fps. even then if C3 is gonna be the pc breaker they promised you may well be looking at a representation of the final product... if so poor pc gamers will be stuck with another crysis they cant max out for another 2 years. which may be great for benchmarking but will suck for actual game play.

^ lol dont call it poor/unoptimised code or some sort like that. that's what what pc gamer want from crysis series

joking aside poor performance is to be expected from alpha stage. i believe even nvidia themselves still not releasing specific driver for it. if they do they most likely will mention that in their previous driver release (just like they did with bf3). so for those participate with the alpha trial they just have to go along with it
