Hi there,

Recently purchased a Corsair Virtuoso headset and I've been having a few issues with it. I believe they're all being caused by the error stated in the title. Strangely the headset seems to work fine when used wirelessly with the dongle, but when used wired (USB) it causes issues - crackly audio, no audio, mic not picking up voice, or just the headset itself disconnecting.

I don't always receive the USB controller prompt when plugging it in, but it does on occasion and I'm assuming this is what is causing the issue. The only USB peripherals I have are my mouse and keyboard, and the dongle for the headset. I have also tried using a USB dock to see if that helps minimise endpoint usage but it doesn't seem to.

This is in Win10, on an MSI B450 mortar max MoBo, Ryzen 5 3600 CPU. I've tried updating the firmware through iCue for the headset and dongle, I've also checked drivers for USB controllers and everything is up to date.

Any help would be great!
Harry

I would reinstall the USB driver, use device manager to uninstall them then reinstall them ; preferably the ones on the support page for the mobo and not what eve rones Windows uses.

If you still have the issue then you might want to consider buying a PCIe USB expansion card, preferably one with multiple USB Controller chips.

Sounds good - should I be uninstalling all drivers under the USB controllers section?
There are 8 in total atm - 3 USB Composite Device, 2 USB Root Hub, 2 AMD USB eXtensible Host Controller, and a Generic USB Hub.
As for the Mobos drivers, would these just be included in the chipset drivers? Here's the support page for it - https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450M-MORTAR-MAX#down-driver&Win10 64

I would start by just uninstalling them all via windows, then restart your PC and windows will grab them again it should work.

You could also try and uninstall the iCue software. I have a VOID headset and had to reinstall it a couple times whenever there is a big update for the software it gets messed up.

Hasn't fixed the issues doing this, but after another day of using it, I think it might actually be caused by the hub that I was using. The hub is a headset stand so naturally had been using it, but I've been testing it all day without and haven't had any issues. I'd like to be able to use the headset stand, as I had no issues with my previous headset - any ideas why the hub would cause issues?
