Question Not getting intended FPS while gaming

Good Evening,
I am quite new to this whole PC gaming thing and I've recently upgraded my PC with a new motherboard and CPU(planning to upgrade my GPU soon as well). However, while playing Valorant and other games, I am not getting the FPS it says I would be getting from research I've done online and I can't seem to figure out why. While playing Valorant on low settings, I would get around 160-250 FPS max while before I upgraded I would also get around the same FPS or sometimes even higher. So if someone would be very kind as to help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Specs:
MOBO: MSI Pro Z790-A WIFI DDR4
CPU: Intel I5-14600k
GPU: RTX 2080 Super
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x8gb DDR4 3600mhz
PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-650 650W

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Did you reinstall the OS after the motherboard swap?

PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-650 650W
How old is the PSU in your build?

MOBO: MSI Pro Z790-A WIFI DDR4
CPU: Intel I5-14600k

How are you cooling the processor on your build?

What were your parts before you upgraded?

On the surface, if one gets the same performance after a cpu upgrade, it would indicate that the gpu was the limiting factor.
I find this unlikely with a 14700K upgrade, regardless of the previous processor.

List all of your parts, both before and after.
