Hi everyone, I bought the LG 24GM77 monitor about 8 months back and it used to work perfectly fine. I had hooked it up to my laptop which has a GTX 980M and I used a mini display port to display port cable to get it to work at 144hz. I recently shifted and today I setup my system but now its maxed out at 100hz. I've updated the latest Nvidia drivers. Even downloaded the latest available drivers for the monitor from LG's official website. The only change I can remember is my RAM having reduced to 8gb from 16gb from after I had given it for service because my graphic card had some problem and I didnt notice the RAM missing after service, but now it's completely fine with the exception of this problem. I dont even know what's causing it. Just to ensure that my graphic card is still working properly I had tested it on a few benchmarks such as 3dMark and the scores are consistent and with the average of people owning the same gpu. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

i dont know then, ask the company support or send it to service
can be something wrong inside your monitor or laptop, cant think of anything else what could cause it

what exactly did they do to your laptop at service?
the fact that it showed that 8gb was missing even though the stick was there is already a warning sign of them messing something up. you might want to ask them
did you try different dp cables?

@sanderveski One of the RAM sticks was missing. I was staying in Oman and it's a pain to go give it in Dubai every time as MSI doesn't have any service centers there. I haven't tried a different DP cable but this one seems perfectly fine and I had kept it all safe itself considering that I'd put it back in its original packaging during shifting. Still don't understand why it would show till a 100hz and not after.

if you go to nvidia control center, make sure to select a resolution under PC, not anything else, then choose 144
another post on this had a response with this answer, could work for you too
