I have just built a new PC and while it was installing windows I left the room. I came back after 5 minutes to see that my computer was off and I could not turn it back on. I noticed that none of the motherboard LEDs were on. I think its probably the motherboard or the psu but I'm not sure.

My components are:
Asus Z97-PRO WI-FI AC
Intel i5 4690k
GSkill 8gb
Samsung evo 840 500gb
Seasonic m12ii 850w
Gigabyte gtx980

thanks for the fast reply, turns out the problem is the power supply. it failed the paper clip test. I tested the fuse in the plug and it was fine so now any ideas?

Where did you buy it from? If from Amazon or Newegg, I'd give them a call and request a replacement or return. If you can't return it to the retailer, contact Seasonic and request an RMA. I believe they allow advance RMA, meaning they'll send you a replacement before they receive the dead unit from you, but you'll have to ask.

Kind of sucks to have a brand-new component fail, but at least you know it's still under warranty.
