I have been getting a lot of loud fan noise coming from somewhere.

1. It's either the new Enermax 480W Coolergiant PSU.

2. Gigabyte's GA7-DXR northbridge fan.

But somehow I just can't believe that a 40mm fan could make so much noise
and vibrate the case where the cards are and underneath the motherboard
support. (I have a Globalwin 802 case)

I am hoping it's just the northbridge fan, which has been taken off and
seems to have quietened down. I know if I can go through a day without that
loud racket again. And if I go through a week then I be even happier.

Now, can you run this northbridge without a fan? Really like to know where
I can get a replacement though.

the fan can make alot of noise!- i had problems with mine ( same board) and
ended up replacing it with a new one... no probs since!

I replaced mine with the coolermaster slc-s41 from
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/
had a few probs gettin it to stay on but after a bit of superglue in the
corners stays on and not had probs since...
