Not sure what to scrap and what to keep when upgrading

Current set up is:
CPU - I5 2400
Motherboard - MSI H61M-B23
Memory - Corsair 8gb (2x4gb) DDR3 1333
Storage - Samsung Spinpoint F3
Vid Card - Geforce GT 620
Power Supply - Antec BP430
Windows 7

Was fine for my uses, but wanted to try some online gaming (FFXIV, only getting 10 fps) so I know I need to upgrade a few things, just not sure what the best approach would be. New MB and GPU I can see but then I suppose my PSU needs upgrade also? Hopefully can reuse my Windows 7 copy on new MB. Not looking for anything drastic, just enough to enjoy playing and last a bit. Thanks.

The CPu, HDD, motherboard, and RAM can all be kept.

all you need is a 500w PSU and a good GPU.

Under $250. Worried about that MB only having pci-e 1 and card not fitting.

The board has a PCI e 2.0 slot . This is standard for ANY GPU. This motherboard will not bottleneck ANY modern GPU at all.
