Notebook goes black and freezes

Hi
I have a notebook thats ON 24/7 for downloads mostly, but sometimes it goes black and freezes and have no clue why that happens, the temps are fine, I have to restart it manually every time and its kind of a bother any ideas?

Could be a conflict when screensaver becomes active, also if you're using torrents there is possibility of hacking involved.

No screen saver is enables and most probably no hacking

Power off laptop, remove battery and adapter, now press and hold power button for 30 seconds to reset bios to default settings. Now reattach battery and adapter and test. On a side note I read somewhere that Apple software needed to be installed for interfacing with their products caused a very similar issue as yours so check that.

that wont reset the bios setting, necessarily.you'll also have to take out the CMOS battery with the system unplugged and the main battery out as well. but i don't think a BIOS setting is the problem, but your idea is otherwise worth a shot to try.

Yesterday it did it again after doing what you wrote here.
