[SOLVED] Notepad Icon needs discipline

This is a kind of irrelevant point but one which I'd be interested in knowing the answer. Wherever I place my Desktop Notepad icon, it's in the top left corner when I boot up. There's nothing special with this icon, I created it by doing the standard thing of creating a shortcut, and the settings are as you'd expect. Icons created before and since respect my wishes and stay where I put them.

No Sort options checked. Icons are Aligned to Grid but not Auto Arrange.

Thanks. Applying a change in the Personalise Themes causes all the icons to re-arrange along the left-most side, similar to the OP in that thread. This appears to be a bug in Windows 10 so I'll just live with it. I've got Desktop OK so all I need to do to rope in unruly icons is run that and choose Restore.

i just hide all my icons and use a taskbar toolbar for my desktop icons. I prefer to see my pictures without distractions.

Renaming it from Notepad to Notepad! solves the 'problem.' Windows is nuts.
