Notepad

I have just reinstalled windows xp SP1 and my notepad wont
open. Not if I open a .TXT file (it does nothing) and not
if I open notepad.exe.
I also downloaded a version of notepad from teh web and it
won't work eiter. What should I do?

Do a thorough virus scan. Do a search for notepad.exe, there might be
several copies on your computer. If you find one copy it to
C:\Windows\system32\
