Noob PC builder with a noob build. I previously posted about my PC not working for unknown reasons, I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to the wi-fi card.
The issue is that my monitor consistently loses signal 3 minutes after connecting to wifi. After I lose that signal, I cannot get it back, no matter what. I've had to just reinstall windows and start over. I've tried reseating wifi card, RAM, GPU, SSD. I also tried installing my wifi card drivers before installing the card itself. My guess right now is that the card is faulty, and I'm going to exchange it.
However, I also don't think the Intel LAN driver for my motherboard is installing correctly. Every time I try to install (by double clicking AsusSetup), nothing happens. I've also tried running as administrator, and still nothing happens. Again, I'm a total noob, so I'm guessing that there could be an issue here as well. I've looked around to see if anyone has had the same problem, but haven't had much luck. Could anyone help out with this?
I'm going to try plugging my card into the other PCIE port to see if that does anything. I've yet to try connecting to internet with an ethernet cable, but that's going to be my next step if the other port doesn't change anything. If it works, I'll take it that my wifi card truly is the problem, but I'm still worried about the Intel LAN driver.
